COLD KISSES By Richard Thompson From the Album "You? Me? Us?-Nude" This file contains two versions of the song. ------------------------------------- FIRST VERSION Date: Mon, 09 Aug 1999 14:24:45 +0100 From: Magnus Paterson I was happily hacking about on the guitar last week, when I realised that after a long time of trying to get the Cold Kisses intro, I'd found it. Two hours later I had the whole damn thing cracked, so here it is. Rich K may want to add it to the tab archive, or may want to hold off pending corrections/improvements. This isn't perfect, but it's as close as I'm going to get for now. Use a monospaced font to view it, & if anyone's mailer truncates it, let me know and I'll make it available through a web page. Have fun. Cheers, Magnus - --------------------------------------------------------------------- "Cold Kisses" by Richard Thompson from the album "You?Me?Us?" Transcribed by Magnus Paterson (mjp@roe.ac.uk) Private use &c.... Playing notes ---------------- Dropped D (DADGBE), capo 5th fret. All fingerings/chord shapes relative to capo (ie it's really Am). Chords used: Em 222000 G/F# 4x000x G 55000x (sometimes 5x000x on the ascending/descending runs) D 000232 Am x02210 A x02220 Bm x24432 A/G 502220 (tough on the pinkie, this one) C x32010 or x32013 as suits. -h- indicates hammer on -p- indicates pull off The tab doesn't include much (any) timing information as the piece switches between 4/4 and 2/4, and I'm too lazy to figure out how best to show that in the tab. It should be fairly easy to pick up from the alternating bass line, though. I play most of this using variations of the picking pattern in the second (Em) part of the introduction, (but then I'm not RT). For example (lyrics truncated to avoid respacing the tab): e|-----------------------0---------------0-| B|-------------0---------------0-----------| G|-------------0-----0---------0-----0-----| D|-------------2-------2-------2-------2---| A|-----------------2---------------2-------| D|---------2---------------2---------------| Here I am.......room....going...stuff e|-----------------------------2-----------------0----------------0-| B|-----0---------0-----0-------3-------0---------------0------------| G|-----0-----0---------0-------2-------0-----0---------0-----0------| D|-----2-------0-------0---------------2-------2-------2-------2----| A|-----------------------------------------2---------------2--------| D|-2-------4-------5-------0-------2---------------2----------------| Said.....gone....min.....that....enough COLD KISSES Richard Thompson Introduction (& various fills as appropriate) (*2) e|---------------------------------------0---------------0-| B|-----------------------------0---------------0-----------| G|---0---0---0---0-2-----0-----0-----0---------0-----0-----| D|-4---4---4---4-----------2---2-------2-------2-------2---| A|-----4-------4-------0-----------2---------------2-------| D|-4-------4-------0-------2---------------2---------------| Em Here I am in your room going through your stuff.
